إزالة الأورام

تُعرف العملية الجراحية إزالة الأورام أو الأنسجة الشاذة باسم استئصال الورم. يزيل الجراح السرطان أو الأنسجة غير الطبيعية الأخرى مع كمية صغيرة من الأنسجة المحيطة عند إجراء استئصال الورم في الثدي الأيسر. يوفر بديلاً أقل تدخلاً لاستئصال الثدي ويستخدم عادةً للأمراض الحميدة أو سرطان الثدي في مرحلة مبكرة. لتقليل فرصة تكرار المرض، يتم استخدام العلاج الإشعاعي بالتزامن مع الجراحة لإزالة الورم والأنسجة المحيطة. يؤخذ حجم الورم وأغلب مراحل السرطان وتفضيلات المريضة في الاعتبار عند اختيار استئصال الورم، مما يمكن النساء من الاحتفاظ بمزيد من أنسجة الثدي.
