Pursue MBBS in USA or UK | Moksh Overseas Educon
The process of studying MBBS in the USA differs significantly from that of studying MBBS in the UK. While the UK system bears some resemblance to the PLAB standards, the system for MBBS in the USA, developed by USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) - Step 1/2/3, is entirely distinct. Even Indian doctors who have completed MBBS in India often find it challenging to navigate the initial steps of the USMLE. Furthermore, Indian doctors may face difficulties in being accepted in the UK unless they have acquired 3-5 years of experience before applying for the PLAB-based entrance test for postgraduate programs.
In the USA, there are two main pathways for pursuing a medical program:
1. Taking the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) in the USA.
2. Starting the journey at the bachelor's level with a course at a USMLE-approved university and subsequently passing the USMLE Step 1 Exam after completing the undergraduate program, which is available at various universities in the Caribbean Islands.
